Pumping out lift stations at least twice a year prevents solids and grease build-up. This then prevents the build-up from getting caught in the impeller and/or damaging the pump. Proper ongoing maintenance will ensure that raw sewage and storm water flows where it should and that pumps are functioning and are not clogged.
